One of my fav things to do with my jewelry, is to photograph it….during construction, afterwards….and best of all, when someone is actually wearing the piece.
I have managed to take my photographs from awkward, poorly focused ones…to reasonably nice ones that show the designs in pretty good detail. However, when it comes to photographs of people actually wearing the jewelry….that’s a whole other kettle of fish. And I’m not a good cook or fisherman! Time to call in the reinforcements.
Recently I arranged for a professional photographer to come out to a “shoot”, with some real “models”…otherwise known as family and friends! Lol While these “models” were not literally kicking and screaming…it was close. But we actually had fun! Well, at least I did!! Haha
Trying to work around everyone’s schedule, meant that we met late in the afternoon for the shoot. Late on a fall afternoon….meant beautiful trees…but early sunset and a little bit chilly. Not that that stopped me from asking my one daughter to wear a white SUNDRESS so we could shoot some wedding jewelry. Lol Poor girl! Thankfully we were able to complete the shoot in just over an hour…so no one was too frozen.
Calvin…of Calvin Frank Photography…was awesome. He had everyone laughing, even during the most awkward of poses. We were good entertainment for a group of teenage boys who were hanging out at the park. And as to what was in those wine glasses we used as props…..well, that’s our secret! ;)
So, hopefully soon, I’ll have some lovely photos to share with you. Photos that don’t necessarily show my jewelry designs and creations in detail…but rather show it being worn and enjoyed. And the only thing better? That is when I get photos from all of you, of you wearing and enjoying your MSB creation. That brings me crazy happiness….yep, I’m left smiling like a Cheshire cat!
*An update....I have the photos! Gorgeous...and as I'm sure you can guess...the last 3 photos posted here, are from that shoot. Thank you Calvin Frank Photography!!
